I've heard a rumour that the struggling Shankers are in the midst of a takeover by Twyfords. The idea is not as "potty" as it sounds. When was the last time you went in a bog and saw the Armitage Shankers insignia? All the modern bogs have the Twyfords crest. The last bogs with Armitage Shanks on were made in 1943. These can still be seen in the away end at Bramall Lane.
How dare you spread these vicious rumours? Neither the Armitage Shankers or Armitage Shanks are in decline. And you should check your facts first. Mr Armitage and Mr Shanks did not merge to form this great company until 1969, so that wipes your Bramall Lane theory out. While the USA were pretending to go to the moon, Britain was witnessing the combining of two great forces that would make going for a lash or a dump a wonderful experience.
As for Twyfords, any company that brings out a new piece of porcelain and calls it 'Adamant' deserves to be ridiculed. What were they trying to say with their Ant reference? That you should 'Stand and Deliver' at their altar?
